About the Artist Born in Udine, Italy in 1995, Lucrezia Romanello is a designer and mix media artist who creates fashion accessories, digital collages and abstract paintings. Lucrezia moved to Australia in 2015 and graduated in Fashion Design from the Royal Melbourne University of Technology in 2018. After university she felt that she had lost all her love and inspiration for creating and designing. She therefore decided to leave everything behind and move to the country where she undertook 3 years of farm work. Best decision she ever made. It changed her as a person and made her rediscover her passion and need to be creative and make things. Her mind was free and new ideas flowed while working the most tedious jobs. In her spare time she learnt how to crochet and, using the waste materials found between the factories where she worked and the op-shops in the town where she lived, she began to create collages and works of art.
Her main inspirations are the boldness and colours of Corita Kent's work, El Anatsui's use of recycled materials and Toni Brogan's textures.
Lucrezia’s work consists of bold and eye-catching fashion accessories that are completely hand crafted using mostly deadstock yarns ,fabrics and trims with hardware components.
